To deliver sustained competitive advantage for the UA brand at retail and achieve the revenues -, units -, instore presence and selling cost objectives.

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

The Field Sales Rep is the owner of the business and directly responsible for the achievement of the revenues, units, average price and instore presence objectives. The Field Sales Rep is Under Armour’s primary contact for the customers’ buyers. This role is responsible for the business unit and category at the customer and conceptually sell the assortment plan as part of the total business plan at the assigned customer(s). The Field Sales Rep takes a pro-active lead in deploying resources and aligning the use of experts from other functional areas to realise business opportunities and solve key challenges. This role proposes plans to develop the business in coop with his direct manager and other members of the B2B Field & Specialty team. This role focuses on mutual profitable growth by improving standardisation and simplification in the co-operation with the customer(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT- SALES

BUSINESS UNIT (B2B FIELD AND SPECIALTY ACCOUNTS POD) /CATEGORY ACTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION.

Output: A fiscal year/seasonal plan to achieve the business unit/category specific objectives/strategies behind effective implementation of sales fundamentals (assortment, pricing, instore presence), consistent with the overall B2B Field and Specialty Strategy.

Core tasks

  • Understand Under Armour overall -, business unit and category objectives and strategies.
  • Understand the Under Armour segmentation and differentiation policy.
  • Understand store type, formula positioning category roles within the formula.
  • Have a clear understanding of customer position as part of local market environment
  • Identify customer objectives and strategies on category level for the TOP 10 accounts.
  • Develop assortment proposals to deliver against the distribution objectives/development of destination categories
  • Ensure – where relevant and in coop with retail marketing department - excellent instore implementation of assortments and Under Armour seasonal brand and category initiatives.
  • Analyse customer shipment development - in coop with Customer Service - and sell through data to improve mutual business results.
  • Pro-actively communicate business results to line manager and overcome barriers to achieve objectives.
  • Define areas of opportunity/co-operation within a business unit/category.
  • In coop with European Sales Planner, provide input to Accurate Volume forecast to build Under Armour/retailer profitability
  • Responsible for order/entry of customer orders. Optimize use of ARMOUR HOUSE online buying platform tool for Field & Specialty accounts.
  • Excellent order management resulting in 100% delivery of pre-season orders i.e Gross to net management

DEVELOP PRODUCTIVE LONG TERM PARTNERSHIPS WITH FIELD AND SPECIALTY (RUN, BASKET, FOOTBALL) ACCOUNTS.

Output: Building a trustful and constructive relationship with key customer contacts, both internal and external, resulting in setting and achieving mutually agreed business objectives.

Core tasks

  • Respect all customers and their values/principles.
  • Data based and honest decision making and non-discriminating in our business proposals.
  • Openness, fairness, integrity and high frequency in communication with customers.
  • Agree with customers on objectives, strategies and yearly (action) plan to achieve against the objectives/strategies.
  • Work closely together with local Customer Service to ensure delivery of ordered products, sell in of in season and close out products.
  • Work closely together with Finance department to understand customer payment behavior and take appropriate actions together with line manager and Finance department.
  • Contributor in strategic and seasonal planning in cooperation with the European B2B Field and Specialty Sales Manager.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT

DEPLOY MULTI-FUNCTIONAL RESOURCES.

Output: The account executive takes the lead in deploying (multi-functional) resources and category experts to achieve business unit/category objectives. They take ownership to develop their competencies and strongly contribute to the overall team effectiveness.

Core tasks

  • Align the use of multi-functional resources or category experts with line manager.
  • Lead monthly ‘one-on-one’ with direct manager to discuss progress on developmental and business objectives.
  • Lead weekly ‘one-on-one’ with direct manager to discuss progress on projects.
  • Pro-actively communicate progress on business objectives to direct line manager including plans to achieve/exceed the objectives.

ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A STRONG INTERNAL COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP RELATED TO:

  • Other sales reps/key account executives in Benelux/European HQ Amsterdam, France, Germany and UK.
  • Finance department in country 
  • Customer Service department
  • Merchandising department
  • Retail Marketing

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, the field sales rep must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's or Master degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in similar position in Sporting Goods/Fashion Lifestyle or equivalent FMCG
  • Product/applications experience
  • Wholesale distribution experience

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of Benelux sporting goods retail landscape.
  • Excellent account management and analytical/retail planning skills. 
  • Demonstrated success , meeting sales goals and growing sales
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of effective selling strategies and techniques
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid relationships and working knowledge of key retail accounts
  • Ability to multitask in high pressure environment. 
  • Effective listening, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills
  • Strong presentation skills. Both verbal and written
