SUMMARY:Under Armour is looking for a Consumer Engagement Directorbased in the Under Armour European Head Quarters, Amsterdam.  The position reports directly to the Senior Director Marketing, Europe.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced strategic thinker with superior collaboration delivery and organizational skills. The candidate needs to be results orientated, data driven and be consumer obsessed. Working closely with global and regional counterparts they will lead a truly integrated cross-channel strategy that connects with the target UA consumer at all stages of their journey. The ideal candidate will have experience in digital strategy, media communications planning, performance based media, acquisition, data analysis and offline planning. Through campaign & key product storytelling, the candidate will be accountable for media agency relationships, managing the overall media investment portfolio to achieve business objectives, maximizing the impact of UA’s Fitness apps and executing an integrated full funnel strategy that delivers optimum ROIwhilst supporting the commercial targets of the UA Europe business. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about connecting consumers with world class content through innovative engagement models, and excited about having a direct impact on shaping UA’s future. Excellent leadership & influencing skillsare mandatory, with the ability to manage and lead a team of six direct reports, whilst working closely with key global stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead strategic planning, development and transformation of Consumer Engagement from conception to execution and through evaluation.
  • Build a consumer roadmap that ensures UA make the right investments to drive our business KPIs.
  • Oversee a team of consumer engagement specialists across acquisition (brand & performance), CRM, media & comms planning and social.
  • Lead the editorial strategy, content development and integration of Under Armour’s fitness apps.
  • Drive breakthrough integrations across media and publishing platforms.
  • Management & allocation of brand media budget.
  • Create, manage, and deliver a cross category brand digital strategy.
  • Collaborate with the key marketing team mates to develop integrated strategic frameworks.
  • Define KPIs and own campaign and performance dashboards.
  • Own Test and Learn agenda
  • Articulate and visualize various emerging trends and behaviours across the entire digital landscape
  • Establish best practices to ensure teams take full advantage of proprietary and syndicated tools to deliver results
  • Define a vision and strategy for Regional CRM, lead the segmentation of audiences, and define communications streams to maximize LTV
  • Promote an open working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared
  • Build great relationships with key stakeholders from regional sales.
  • Report on/ measure the contribution of all marketing activities to establish ROI.
  • Manage outside agency and vendor relationships related to execution of marketing activity.
  • TIME SPLITS
  • 60% -Internal – European Head Quarters – Amsterdam
  • 20% - External – Other European offices – Munich, Paris, Manchester
  • 20% -External - In account meetings, with local agencies and in retail

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct line reporting responsibility for the European Consumer Engagement team (6 people).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 12+ years proven digital communications and media planning experience
  • People management & leadership experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding across all stages of the consumer’s digital journey.
  • Strong knowledge of current European digital media landscape.
  • Ability to multitask in high pressure environment. 
  • Command of basic statistics and interpretation of data
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills. Both verbal and written.
  • A command of written and spoken English.
  • Team player with a passion for sports and have the desire to cross the line in first place delivering executional excellence.
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, innovative and drive to achieve the best, the teammate should be a strong communicator and able to manage their time effectively.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mastery of the English language, both conversation and written is an essential function.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply concepts of applied mathematics, and statistics, Ability to interpret media, consumer and business data to uncover basic insights.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
